What is the best ship? (2024)

I used to save edit the Sidewinder but I don't have a computer anymore so I need a new ship because I'm currently using the Casstech.

Edit: Oh and why.

2 Edit: discussion and idea swap after I've made my decision. Like ships and attachments.

Wasn't joking. With the exception of Teyal chasing you, there isn't a single space encounter that requires anything more than a single missile turret. If you really want to blast the crap out of everything just buy an Aegis and load up on missile turrets, since it already comes with a cap and missile turret baked in.

Hmm something to think about but would like to get more opinions.

Why did you Save-Edit the Sidewinder? You can get it legitimately.

Aside from the Sidewinder, I think the best ship is the Aegis MS-XI. More Shields (especially with the non-negotiable Shield Booster) than the Spearhead, Missile Turret is better than Thermal Cannon, 2 more module slots, more storage capacity. Less armor, but you should never be taking armor damage.

I usually add 1 Missile Turret, 2 Hardened Systems, 2 Power Core Tuners, 1 Shield Vampire and 3 Advanced Quarters (I don't have a lot of followers).

This is probably overkill, honestly. I mostly do it because it was the setup I used to defeat Dr. Teyaal in my tests back when she'd attack you if you returned after stealing the Sidewinder even if you weren't using the Sidewinder. The 2 Missile Turrets and Hardened Systems mean I can't miss the Star Viper Spearhead even while it's cloaked.

I did it after I would give it around 40 equipment slots and 60 crew. I turned a Corvette into a light cruiser.

Thanks I have the blade on a few saves but every time I do the quest no matter what I do I get 1% taint.

1% Taint isn't a big deal; it goes away after 3 days. You can counter the Libido increase via a Chill Pill afterward. Unless you're determined to absolutely, positively never gain a single point of Taint for RP purposes?

But then just wait a few days. If I remember correctly up to 30% taint is not permanent, the game decrease 1% each 5 days if no more tainted is gained

I know it isn't a big deal but it is something you can't get rid of like Corruption in CoC when you have a lot of it.

Only when you reach 100% Taint. Anything below that will be decreased by 1% every 3 days, so long as you're not incurring more Taint. Given that there are some involuntary sources (Gabilani Chemist Heat/Rut, Milodan Amazon sex), I'm hoping for a service that will decrease Taint faster, for a fee (and maybe some downtime).

Definitely, but stay on topic, sorry I got some degree of OCD.

MS-XI imo is a very reliable one. The best? Not really, but the more important thing is it does just enough for me for my playstyle.

Decent enough storage space (30 slots is more than enough, I'm not usually carrying a lot long-term), I can't remember the weaponry I put on it but I think one of them was an EM Turret and something else, and the rest is the spare crew space slots untouched as I don't have a lot on my roster that I actually WANT to pick who does take up that space, and probs won't for a while. Idk the details there as I lost my file for it. It's strong enough in the few space battles I'm in and gets away without hassle. Clydesdale K7 who? /s

Ova'LEK and the Spearhead SS are good early ships too imo.

Best ship? Whichever one has Ausar puppyslu*ts going down on Capta----wait, you meant actual ships? Well...nevermind.

Personally, I like the Sidewinder. Fast, tough and packs a wallop. Its a good allrounder of a ship.
